HEAVY SNOW SHOWERS HAVE HIT THE NORTHERN WEST COAST EXPECTING TO INCREASE OVER THE REST OF THE WEEK!
The weather forecast has confirmed that the snow showers starting yesterday afternoon are only the foreshadow of more precipitation to come in the following days, for at least the next week. The mayor has soothed the citizen's concerns about the already piling snow masses in the streets and the random subway short-comings due to the cold weather and freezing utility. The Port Authority won't open the Hudson tunnels until they can ensure the sinks can be unclogged and residual water from the defrosting of the streets will drain properly. It is also expected that the bridges will be closed later today due to heavy ice making them unsafe to pass rendering Manhattan almost inaccessible for the coming weekend.
Every citizen of the peninsula however is ordered to stay clam and not start hogging supplies. There may be occasional power-outs but the over all infrastructure will be kept up as good as possible. There is a refuge center at the New York library for those who do not feel safe in their homes or want to contribute and help those who are left alone on the streets. Though the mayor advices each and everyone who has no urgent business to stay at home and keep warm. Like very other snow storm this will also blow over in the matter of a few days. Stay tuned for further information.
NOTE: For starters this site event will last longer than a week OOC even though the happenings IC will only span from today, December 15th to the 20th when the snow will stop falling. The thread will stay open till Christmas. Everyone is encouraged to open their own threads about their struggle with the menacing situation EVERYWHERE on site and link me for the latter addition of their EXTRA site event Lifetime Points. Additionally you can post in here if your character is hiding or helping out at the Library.
