NEW YORK, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2010
THE GREATEST BALL DROP YOU HAD SINCE PUBERTY!!!Now when there's New Years Eve around the whole city drowns practically in parties and celebrations with the ball drop at Times Square certainly being the highlight! But wouldn't it be cool if you could combine the exclusivity of a private event on a roof top with the amazing views of the most anticipated NYE event? Well, this can become true this year if you belong to the elite circle who received invitations already. If not? Shame on you, either brawl witht he corwds down on the square or maybe if you're semi lucky attend one of the more numb events around town.
Rumor has it some three guys from Brooklyn got in the posession of some keys that lead to a Times Square adjesant rooftop, that's where the bash will go off, starting 10 pm tonight! Better be there on time and better remember the secret code to get in or there's gonna be hell to pay my friends. Will I be there? Damn straight! So I can write about it tomorrow ... see ya there, or not. Either way .. good sledging into the new year, the streets are still slippery and will be even more with all the vomit tonight. Even more reason to go for high ground. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
NOTE: The event counts for lifetime points as regularly and on a side note, the whole staff of INDEEP wishes you guys a happy new year! INDEEP 2010

New Years Eve was a strange date every year again. It was where people decided that it was time to start over and make resolutions that only lasted till the next temptation came around. Which was seldomnly more than 24 hours later. It was also the time where people got reminded of aging, sometimes even much more than on their birthdays ... mainly because Sylvester was a unanimous 'birthday' for everyone ... you could easily remember what you did exactly one year ago and how it felt only yesterday. How time was fleeting and how you once again didn't achieve what you had planned. The grim face of death and age smiling at you whilst you cowered away in the corner putting it up for the new year where everything was going to be better. Déjà vu anyone?! Just like NYE the same situation came around annually and like anything you subscribed to, be it the Playboy or age-related drama, you had to pay the bill in the end ... and it usually didn't come cheap.
Lexington didn't burden herself with expectations. She didn't do the whole 'I see myself in one year ...' thing, mainly because she knew there was no better day than today. In boarding school she had learned you can't live in the past ... neither can you live in the future. On 'if's and 'one day's ... you wanted something you took it, right now. There was no sense in waiting. The only upside of NYE was that people forgot all their restraints and problems for a few hours and partied like it was 1999. It was what Lex had come to like about holidays like these. The fact everyone didn't mind their life's desperation for a while and didn't remind her that she was pushing responsibility away like it was one of the Sprouse brothers. It was a time of free booze and loud music everywhere. Everyone being in a light mood and having fun about as easy as opening a can of tuna. It was not the biggest upside but definitely ranging within the top five at least.
Walking up to the iron cast back door through this hideous back alley the tall blonde was watching her every step, trying her heels not sticking to any used newspaper or banana peel. Sighing in mere annoyance at the sheer fact they couldn't simply open the front door or the fact it had come down to some F.D. Roosevelt creeps throwing the most anticipated party this year Lex stopped on the small pedestal shaking her wavy hairdo back, brushing her lips together for more sparkle. Knocking once she took a look at her knuckles, pulling a face slightly at the wee bit of rust sticking to the small lines in her skin. Rolling those dazzling green eyes of her she remained standing there for what seemed eternity till a weak male voice arose muffled from the inside. "Is there going to be more?!" he said calmly. Opening her mouth in a faint gasp of confusion and annoyance Lex frowned taking a baffled look down the back alley momentarily. "No there's not going to be more you dead-beat! Open the fuckin' door already!" the blonde barked back close to kicking said barricade but remembering the fragile tips of her Manolos.
"But you're supposed to knock three times!" the 'insider' explained with what Lex could only interpret as a muffled sigh. Feeling somewhat misplaced the girl put his obvious ignorance of her appearance on the fact the door had no peepholes. "I am not supposed to hit anything three times but your pathetic little head if you don't let me in right this instance before Nick Nolte over there asks me for a dollar!" Catching a disgusted glimpse of some homeless man pushing his shopping cart of belongings through the back alley Lexington clasped her evening clutch tighter as she waited for something - anything - to happen. Only a few seconds later the door opened after a heavy lock was turned. A handsome yet slightly short guy with surfer hair opened looking at her curiously first and then with a pleasant smile. He opened his lips to say something remotely witty but the girl from the Upper Eastside shut him down preemptively in passing. "To late to redeem yourself buddy ... have fun with whatever second best comes next!" she told him condescendingly, patting his shoulder pitifully as she proceeded inside and up the stairs. This was going to be a great night and nothing was going to stand in her way to that.

Mingling through the crowd of people on the roof-top Dorian smiled proudly of his diverse assortment of friends he had made over the years. He'd always been very sociable but down in Savannah there were only so many diverse people you could meet before realizing everyone hated the Yankees and either sat in front of a TV or some red neck on the football stadium's bleachers on Friday night. So being scouted by his agency and then traveling the world was the best that could ever had happened to him. Though the boy from Georgia would never admit he saw prancing around in underwear for a couple lucky shots the chance of his lifetime. It was only the means of him seeing the big wide world on his own anyways, he didn't like it ... didn't dread it either. Just had no particular notion ... he looked at the Calvin add on Broadway and all he saw was a scrawny teenager who hadn't bothered to shave ... and that after countless days at the gym and 4 hours in hair & make up ... it was pathetic really how they couldn't do any better on him!
But back to his unusual assortment of friends. There was Darnel, his ghetto rapper friend who actually just got signed to 50 Cent's label recently and was now moving into some fancy crib over in Hyde Park with wife and kids. He had actually met him after a Miley Cyrus concert in 2008 when they had shared a cab bolting early before music was put to grave entirely. Then there was Hugo, the janitor of the Wexler building, a recent friend, let's leave it at that. Of course Dori's roomy Adam, a model friend, of course he had to have some. Same agency, worked together, shared an apartment ... the story was easy. He was straight as a ruler, what a shame ... same went for Caleb who was guarding the door downstairs only that in his case there was still hoping for a bisexual fairy to grace his dreams one day. Well ... but truth of the matter was, Dorian's friends were those people he mostly DIDN'T have sex with. Never pee where you eat, right?
Reaching the few tables in the back where people were sitting to play a hand of cards or draw a line of coke Beau sat down with two of his other friends for a moment ... yet again two very individual people. Because nothing was more boring than run-off-the-mill friends ... they made yourself boring in the end. So there was Casey, gorgeous blonde who actually aspired to be a United Nations secretary! So far she had only made it to serve drinks at the UN cantina but there was aspiration which Dorian certainly could admire. Plus she studied political sciences so there was hoping ... a brainy chick, not exactly his type. He liked to flatter himself into thinking that was because they never hooked up but the truth was that Casey was to smart for his charming antics and let him down easily on many occasions. Quite the opposite to Conrad, the realtor from Brooklyn and landlord of the four-some boys. The guy with the blond wig and extravagant choice of glasses who repeatedly had hit on Dori and his roommates. But he'd never put anything past the flamboyant man who was in many ways more of a friend than you could think.
"So what's the consensus?!" Dori asked smiling creeping an arm around Casey's waist that got quickly shaken off with chuckling. "Well I'd say it's as overdone as usually!" the blonde beauty smiled with eyes jokingly cold as ice. "Ouch ..." the boy breathed silently, biting his bottom lip with squinted eyes. "I think it could use more glamor! Ask Darnel, I am sure the stud knows what kind of 'bling bling' I am talking about." Conrad judged for himself which made Dorian lower his pate in amusement. If his life was a TV show this situation was definitely a rerun of every party he had thrown so far. "So, undecided ... I take it!" he concluded looking at both of them, receiving a quick and eager unanimous nod. "Alright, I'll leave you two for another hour and more booze!" Ruffling through Casey's hair intentionally and blessing Conrad with a promiscuous wink Dorian got up once again instantly realizing a familiar figure making his way through the crowd slightly weirded out. Well, Jace wasn't really one for the masses, was he.
Making his way over, sneaking up from behind Beau pulled the smaller boy into a head-lock brushing his knuckles over his head boyishly. "Welcome to the dirt, Private!" he cheered with gritted teeth before chuckling and letting go of the boy who got startled badly it seemed. Well, sorry for that ..." the southern gentleman pointed at his room-mates ruffled up hair excusingly. "Now come on!" he then cheered pulling Jace back close, this time into his arm around his neck at his side, pulling him to the buffet by the staircase. "Let's have some left-over punch!" for Dori knew fairly well how much the boy hated his own understanding of booze. They passed a strikingly beautiful blonde in passing that just arrived, carrying her nose so high it was in danger of filling up during rain. Nodding at her charmingly and receiving nothing but rolling eyes made Beau chuckle ... well, he didn't need to waste his time on a girl who'd only go out with him after seeing his credentials. Digging his hands in the bowl of popcorn and stuffing his mouth with it Dori was just about to say something to Jace again as some other beauty evaded from the staircase shadows. One with much more approachability to her ... no, not a slut, a people's person! A sweetheart - more like it.

Post by EVA RHIANNON HARDWICK on Jan 1, 2011 15:45:43 GMT -8
The last day of the year could never be just quiet. There were simply too many people about and most of them were in various stages of getting ready for the night, making last minute arrangements about which party to attend, what to wear or possibly do the last moment shopping for the dress that they could wow the crowds in. time when the salons were booked and full of girls getting manicures and pedicures and their hair done. Eva was not one of them, not today anyway. She had gone and gotten her nails done the day before, knowing full well she'd be avoiding the crowds. She even had a dress, or at least was almost settled on one she'd wear, though of course it was a subject to last minute change. Instead the girl was in her room, making use of the fact that her parents were out together with her younger sister and her older brother was running around with some of his friends. Her window was open, even though it was very cold outside and she was sitting on the window sill, her hoodie providing at least a little warmth as she lit up her joint. It's been a few days since she's had any weed which was a little bit of a surprise. While most people doubled the dose for Christmas and other events involving family, she had toned it down, staying in more than usually.
She took a long puff and held it in for a long moment before exhaling slowly. Screw the cold, she liked how fresh it felt outside. There were a few people wandering about quickly, trying to get some place warm. She took another drag and closed her eyes smiling. It was good weed, not like the crap some idiot had tried to sell her last time. She didn't mind paying extra if the product was good, a philosophy that applied to other areas of her purchases as well. Her closet was bubbling full of various articles of clothing and shoes, a mixture of high fashion and brands with some thrift store things and downtown junk; that was the advantage of being rich – not being able to buy only designer clothes, but the ability to buy whatever the hell you wanted without having to count the limit on your credit card. She took her time, finishing the joint and in the end feeling cold as fuck, but wasn't bothered by it in the slightest. It was afternoon already and high time for her to have a nice long hot bath and then get ready. Taking her time, Eva enjoyed the relax and then set to work on her hair since she think she needed to get it done anywhere. Just make sure it was falling in heavy long waves and that was that.
Eva had dropped by a friend's house around eight, just for a few drinks and to say hi before she'd leave and go see Dori's little shindig. She had to admit she was impressed at him pulling this off, though she wasn't gonna tell him that, not right off and not in a sentence longer than 'not bad Gray' or she'd be in for grins and swelling ego. Grins she'd not mind, the ego would get annoying quickly. It was really only a little over the hour that she had spent at the first party before saying bye and with one glass full of champagne in hand, she flagged a cab. It was a nightmare of a ride, but she got there eventually, paying the cabman and stepping out. In the end, Eva had settled on the dress she had originally picked, a pair of heels and a coat. Only having some notes, she made sure to put them into the side of her strapless bra and then set out towards where the party was supposed to be at. Going from the back, she knocked three times, hand ready for the fourth out of sheer curiosity, but in the end she didn't knock that one extra time. She grinned at the guy that opened the door, quickly sliding inside where it was considerably warmer.
She spent a bit of time chatting to the guy, pretty sure it was Caleb. She was already feeling warm, a combination of the air and drinks. Coat still on she walked up the stairs and came right into the middle of the party. Smiling, she noticed Dori and with Dori drinks as well and she walked that way, surprised at how easy it seemed to be walking in those heels tonight. ”Where can a girl get a drink here?” she teased, looking Dorian and the other guy, grinning widely as she often did. She turned around for a moment, looking for a place to throw her coat to and finding and empty armchair with a few on there, she shed it from her shoulders and threw it onto the heap and then turned back to the guys. ”Well? It's impolite to have a girl waiting, just saying...” she trailed off with a laugh, running a hand through her hair. There were few people she recognised vaguely from what she has seen, a few she'd go and say hi to in a little bit, after she had her drink, whether she'd be getting it or having to take it herself.

Post by ANALEIGH ELLIS WILLIAMS on Jan 2, 2011 9:05:35 GMT -8
It was that time of the year, once again, where friends and family would get together to celebrate the beginning of another year. However, there was a problem within that. Every year it was the same thing, people would gather round have a little bit too much to drink and do something that they would live to regret…well, sometimes. The bigger picture was that people vowed they would change their nasty habits and make their ‘New Years Resolutions’ but how many actually stuck to their rules? Not many. They would tell themselves that they would never touch a single piece of chocolate until they lost the weight that needed to go…that never worked. Maybe it was because we are all just weak? No, that sounded rather ridiculous. You could just say that people were never going to be used to making guidelines for themselves and living up to them and, plus, rules were meant to be broken. Maybe that was the reason for this whole ‘New Years Resolutions’ rubbish? Whatever the reason many have been this blonde never, in her entire life, made a single resolution. This was mainly because she knew that she would not be able to stick to whatever it was. Plus she was the kind of girl that loved her chocolate, or even her alcohol, so she would never be able to stop that. She did not really understand what the big deal was anyway. It was just another year, maybe it would end up being just like the last year. That was something that Analeigh was worried about. Each year the blonde would hope that next year would be better for her…sometimes it worked out and sometimes it did not.
Analeigh was not a miserable girl but her hate for the New Year certainly suggested otherwise. The blonde was one of those bubbly people that, if in a cartoon, would be one of those hyper fairies; flying around the room and spreading joy. That seemed quite stupid, if you really thought about it but Analeigh was not really going to jump around the room and ‘spread joy’. Leigh was more of the type of person that spread joy subtly. Her friendly nature, most of the time, allowed others around her to be happy as well – it was her presence. However, it did not always work and that was understandable. Not everyone had the knack to understand Leigh and how she worked. You could also say that there were a number of people that did not like her happy and friendly nature; they probably would have wanted her to be someone that was totally different. Maybe even a rebel? However, Analeigh was in no way like a rebel. Sure, she could have tried but the most obvious outcome would have been for her to fail at that. There were moments in life where Analeigh wanted to be an extremely different person but she knew that she would never be able to do it. The blonde would never be able to let go of her personality - unless she really tried.
All this time the blonde had been walking to the back entrance she had been attempting to remember how many times she had to knock. It only hit her once she stood right in front of it how many times it was. Her hand rose up to the door as she gently knocked three times. For a second Analeigh thought she had got it wrong but slowly it swung open and a gentleman stood at the other side. The blonde smiled sweetly as she walked passed him and up towards where the real party was going on. She was feeling quite excited about this party and Analeigh was very happy that she had been invited in the first place. The blonde walked around the busy room in search of at least one person that she knew. Right now she could not find anyone but that was not a problem. Analeigh needed to get a drink first. The blonde had decided that if she had come to this party then she was surely going to come to have a good night. She was not going to like one of those people that stood at the side and watched everyone else have their fun – Analeigh had never been like that anyway.
After a few seconds of searching for someone she noticed a blonde that she recognised. From where she was standing it looked like it was Lex. Now, Leigh and Lex were poles apart and that was very obvious. Lex was the wilder girl and you would probably see her out there partying and having her fun. Analeigh also liked to party and have her fun but no where as much as Lexington. Maybe that was why it was such a good idea for them to be friends? Analeigh just thought that she was a pretty cool girl and she was happy to be friends with anyone. However, you could say that Lex was somewhat of a bad influence on the young blonde. Maybe that was a good thing? ”Hey, fancy meeting you here” the blonde spoke out with a smile as she walked over to Lex with a drink in hand. From the corner of her eye the blonde spotted Eva and Dorian and she decided that she would go see them in a few minutes and say hi.

Traversing the rooftop that was heated by some stray gas lanterns Lex that there were much more eligible people invited and present than originally thought. She knew those guys who had instigated this shindig and wasn't anticipating much which was probably why she'd been positively surprised. These three model dudes with questionable hygiene were most of the time not up to any good and while that could be an attractive quality for a man it should at least come paired with sanity and common sense. All characteristics the three had clearly missed out on, probably being somewhere in the back smoking weed when dignity and decorum where handed out but yelling 'here' twice for ego and handsomeness. But well, they obviously knew how to throw a party for the new year ... running across some people that actually deserved a hello and a smile the evening already proved to be not as much of a drag as anticipated. Lexington had figured that if everything failed she could still always snack a bottle of crystal and sit by herself. Not like she was a fan of tossing fluid lead into water or blowing the party whistle.
And of course she had to run in the boom-master himself, the self proclaimed 'host' of tonight though Lex could only ever wonder to what STDs he was all host too. He could take his charming nod and waste it someone who cared that he was on display in underwear all over town. Yes, she indeed knew about Dorian Gray, never would the blonde turn down an opportunity without knowing what eventually to miss out on. Which, in his case, was a southern pervert who'd loose his purpose with showing of age. He could always go modern and be a trophy husband for once ... surely there was a market for. Mingling further, passing the buffet, Lexington got herself a glass of champagne and I little branchlet of grapes that she gently nipped off on her way toward the corner of the rooftop garden where she could overlook the entire scenery unfolding up here just as well as down below with the common people.
Shortly after some furthermore unimportant people escaped the stairs onto the roof Lex let her glance trail over Times Square the leaning onto the banister a bit taking a lazy sip from the glass. The slender blonde peeled some grapes from the branch at tossed them idly down into the masses, the thought of people getting hit by little fruits from above somehow amusing in the back of her twisted mind. Maybe if she was drunk she'd go for a pineapple and make it REALLY interesting. Hearing a sweet, familiar voice behind her Lexington turned to face a pretty blonde in a matchy black dress. Smiling slop sidedly she sized her up and down first before even saying a word. Leigh looked gorgeous, yet she mostly always did which was a little bit annoying, but there was potential for improvement and Lex certainly enjoyed that. It was a little bit of a mentor / student thing, at least in her egocentric world of things. Analeigh certainly could use some edge, the whole St. Mary thing would only get her so far in a world that thought the last supper originally included James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. But above everything else ... Lex loved to have a friend that she didn't need to watch her back from. Because no matter what gruesome situations she could get her in, she'd always stay a saint.
"I'd say so!" the blonde smiled mischievously leaning over to hug her friend gently, kissing her cheek with her full lips, certainly not missing out on her fingers gracing the porcelain skin. "Glad you could make it ... lord knows this shindig can use some class!" Taking another look around seeing Dorian, that Eva chick and some ... random B-List hottie standing at the buffet chatting Lex rolled her eyes. "Ugh ... why is it that parties always suck unless they're for me?!" Taking a deep breath, eyes closed for a second the blond looked back at Leigh with a smile. "Want some more booze? I have the feeling tonight will only go down in the anals of history if we make it rock!" Frowning slightly at what she had just said in retrospective Lexington pulled a thoughtful face. "Or annals .. or whatever ... don't need to know if it's not on the back of some cereal box right? After all I can always blame the cuts in the educational system!" Even though she didn't attend a public school.
